#EVERYBODYKNOWS

A personal study of my cross-cultural experience, addressing conformity to gender role norms; hegemonic masculinity, self-stigma and attitudes dictated by a dominant traditional culture. I photographed men in my cultural context, using powder as a fresh, clean and absorbent metaphor to what it is to be human, making the journey of the tear more striking. The tag captures a sense of death; the curtain is removed - #everybodyknows men cry.
